<p>It&#8217;s been a few days since the last <a href="http://prollyisnotprobably.com/2010/07/a_day_in_10_photos_07152010.php">A Day in 10 Photos entry</a>. Now that I&#8217;m back in NYC, I&#8217;ll be updating daily with photos from my trip to LA for the LA Brakeless <a href="http://summerfixla.com">Summer Fix</a>. Friday, unlike Thursday, was spent on the bike most of the day. A small crew of riders met at LA Brakeless and we all rode Venice beach. That&#8217;s where Wonka&#8217;s barspin took place (<a href="http://prollyisnotprobably.com/2010/07/wonka_barspin_at_venice_beach.php">remember?</a>). At any rate, seeing a real life internet meme was pretty funny.</p>
<p>Check out some more photos below!</p>
<p><a href="http://prollyisnotprobably.com/2010/07/20/ADayin10Photos-02-PINP.php"><img src="http://prollyisnotprobably.com/2010/07/20/ADayin10Photos-02-PINP-thumb.jpg" width="500" height="333" alt="ADayin10Photos 02 PINP thumb A Day in 10 Photos 07.16.2010" border="none" title="A Day in 10 Photos 07.16.2010" /></a></p>
<p>Every time I ride in a city and there&#8217;s a group meet up at a certain time, you end up waiting around for hours. Luckily, when the meet-up&#8217;s at a bike shop, there are tons of things to keep you preoccupied. </p>
<p><a href="http://prollyisnotprobably.com/2010/07/20/ADayin10Photos-03-PINP.php"><img src="http://prollyisnotprobably.com/2010/07/20/ADayin10Photos-03-PINP-thumb.jpg" width="500" height="333" alt="ADayin10Photos 03 PINP thumb A Day in 10 Photos 07.16.2010" border="none" title="A Day in 10 Photos 07.16.2010" /></a></p>
<p><a href="http://labrakeless.com">LA Brakeless</a> is full of bike porn. More on this later&#8230;</p>
<p><a href="http://prollyisnotprobably.com/2010/07/20/ADayin10Photos-04-PINP.php"><img src="http://prollyisnotprobably.com/2010/07/20/ADayin10Photos-04-PINP-thumb.jpg" width="500" height="333" alt="ADayin10Photos 04 PINP thumb A Day in 10 Photos 07.16.2010" border="none" title="A Day in 10 Photos 07.16.2010" /></a></p>
<p>After a lot of waiting around, we all headed southwest to Venice beach. </p>
<p><a href="http://prollyisnotprobably.com/2010/07/20/ADayin10Photos-08-PINP.php"><img src="http://prollyisnotprobably.com/2010/07/20/ADayin10Photos-08-PINP-thumb.jpg" width="500" height="750" alt="ADayin10Photos 08 PINP thumb A Day in 10 Photos 07.16.2010" border="none" title="A Day in 10 Photos 07.16.2010" /></a></p>
<p>Wonka, once again going at it.</p>
<p><a href="http://prollyisnotprobably.com/2010/07/20/ADayin10Photos-06-PINP.php"><img src="http://prollyisnotprobably.com/2010/07/20/ADayin10Photos-06-PINP-thumb.jpg" width="500" height="333" alt="ADayin10Photos 06 PINP thumb A Day in 10 Photos 07.16.2010" border="none" title="A Day in 10 Photos 07.16.2010" /></a></p>
<p>Michael Chacon was there on his Leader.</p>
<p><a href="http://prollyisnotprobably.com/2010/07/20/ADayin10Photos-07-PINP.php"><img src="http://prollyisnotprobably.com/2010/07/20/ADayin10Photos-07-PINP-thumb.jpg" width="500" height="750" alt="ADayin10Photos 07 PINP thumb A Day in 10 Photos 07.16.2010" border="none" title="A Day in 10 Photos 07.16.2010" /></a></p>
<p>Doing what he does.</p>
<p><a href="http://prollyisnotprobably.com/2010/07/20/ADayin10Photos-05-PINP.php"><img src="http://prollyisnotprobably.com/2010/07/20/ADayin10Photos-05-PINP-thumb.jpg" width="500" height="750" alt="ADayin10Photos 05 PINP thumb A Day in 10 Photos 07.16.2010" border="none" title="A Day in 10 Photos 07.16.2010" /></a></p>
<p>Meet Joe. He&#8217;s really good and before this weekend, I had never heard of him. Supposedly he does well at competitions (he won the beginner class at the <a href="http://prollyisnotprobably.com/2010/07/quick_recap_summer_fix_freesty.php">Summer Fix Freestyle Comp</a>) and from spending a few days with him, he&#8217;s got a good amount of variation to his riding.</p>
<p><a href="http://prollyisnotprobably.com/2010/07/20/ADayin10Photos-09-PINP.php"><img src="http://prollyisnotprobably.com/2010/07/20/ADayin10Photos-09-PINP-thumb.jpg" width="500" height="333" alt="ADayin10Photos 09 PINP thumb A Day in 10 Photos 07.16.2010" border="none" title="A Day in 10 Photos 07.16.2010" /></a></p>
<p>But like all riders, Joe still falls once and a while.</p>
<p><a href="http://prollyisnotprobably.com/2010/07/20/ADayin10Photos-10-PINP.php"><img src="http://prollyisnotprobably.com/2010/07/20/ADayin10Photos-10-PINP-thumb.jpg" width="500" height="333" alt="ADayin10Photos 10 PINP thumb A Day in 10 Photos 07.16.2010" border="none" title="A Day in 10 Photos 07.16.2010" /></a></p>
<p>Unfortunately, this time he chipped his tooth. I watched his face smack the sidewalk and the piece actually fall out of his mouth. Sucks! Later on that night, my camera was at home recovering from all the action it saw. After riding we headed to the welcome to LA party; the opening night for Summer Fix. </p>
<p>The next day was the big freestyle comp. Be sure to check back tomorrow for more <a href="http://prollyisnotprobably.com/a_day_in_10_photos/">A Day in 10 Photos</a> coverage of the LA Brakeless <a href="http://summerfixla.com">Summer Fix</a> event.</p>

<p>It&#8217;s not every day that a decent collaboration comes out. This one&#8217;s worth the note for sure. <a href="http://offthehook.ca/fr/blog.htm?blgent=3075614&amp;r=/fr/blog.htm">Off the Hook</a> and <a href="http://brakeless.ca/">Brakeless.ca</a> teamed up to produce some tee&#8217;s, a messenger bag and a custom <a href="http://www.marinoni.qc.ca/">Marinoni</a>. Here&#8217;s the inside scoop from Hypebeast:</p>
<p><em>In a collaborative project between two retailers, Montreal-based Off The Hook and Brakeless team-up to offer a bike-centric effort. The collection features a number of items including a Quintin-produced 5-panel, a Re-Load messenger bag, four t-shirt designs and to conclude everything, a custom Marinoni bike. The collection is available now through Off The Hook.</em></p>
<p>Not bad. Check out more photos here, at <a href="http://hypebeast.com/2010/07/hook-brakeless-collection/">Hypebeast</a>.</p>

He also had a much nicer image than the original <a href="http://www.wallpaper.com/gallery/interiors/handmade/17051969/33080#33080">Wallpaper* article</a>. That being said, here&#8217;s the PR from Wallpaper*:</p>
<p><em>Despite the perils of potholes and truckers&#8217; blind spots, team Wallpaper* are committed urban cyclists. So committed that we commissioned a bike that could be broken down, packed in a bespoke bag and loaded on a plane, with no excess baggage charge, and taken with us wherever we went. The project pulled in a wide range of craftsmen collaborators from the US, UK and Japan &#8212; frame builders, designers, paint specialists, saddle makers, leather carvers and bag and luggage makers &#8212; to ensure that every element of the bike was as beautifully put together as it could be.</em></p>
<p>Not a bad looking project. I&#8217;d build it up proper, that&#8217;s for sure.</p>

<p>What the holy fuck? Jussi, you better be joking <a href="http://fixedgearbikes.blogspot.com/2010/07/merckx-makeover.html">here</a>. <a href="http://chicksandbikes.blogspot.com/">Who the hell</a> would ruin a pristine Telekom? Now I know what you&#8217;re thinking: why 8-speed Campy in the first place and sure, those Shamals are heavy as hell. Regardless as to how the original bike was built, NO BIKE deserves that fate. I&#8217;m praying this is a joke.</p>

<p>How awesome is <a href="http://gattphotos.livejournal.com/467285.html">this</a>? Matt Lingo&#8217;s a stand up guy for putting it on. Here&#8217;s what he has to say about it:</p>
<p><em>This is something I&#8217;ve been planning for a while, working on it in between projects. I&#8217;m not charging for it since it&#8217;s sort of a trial run for me to see if I can make these things work and the kind of response I&#8217;ll get. I&#8217;d rather also keep it fairly informal, and I couldn&#8217;t do that if I&#8217;m charging money to come. It&#8217;s going to focus mostly on fixed gear related stuff since that&#8217;s mostly what I do now a days, so that&#8217;s what I&#8217;ll be discussing as far as business goes. Like it says on the flyer though I don&#8217;t have alot of room, so it&#8217;s first come first serve and I&#8217;m hoping anyone who&#8217;s planning to bail gets a hold of me fast to make up room for others. We&#8217;re doing the talking portions in the lounge part at Leader since that&#8217;s air-conditioned, with the shooting portion taking place in the actual warehouse. If anyone needs to come from out of town there&#8217;s plenty of room at my house to stay at.</em></p>
<p>Bravo <a href="http://gattphotos.livejournal.com/">Matt</a>.</p>
